Taps Renowned HR Innovators, Academics and Advisors to Guide Fast-Growing Leader in HR Information Management

BOSTON (Jan. 23, 2007) — HighRoads, the only company offering a system of record to manage HR programs and suppliers, today announced the formation of a Board of Advisors. This highly experienced and influential group will help guide HighRoads' continued expansion of solutions and services to meet the most pressing needs of today's strategic HR professional: reducing benefits costs while improving quality of service for employees.

The board's founding members include Ted Chien of Ingenix, Fred Foulkes of Boston University's School of Management Human Resources Policy Institute, Mike Hager of Hager Strategic and Anne Szostak of Szostak Partners. Together, these individuals represent industry thought leaders setting a new standard for HR transformation and best-practices.

HighRoads' creation of a Board of Advisors comes at a pivotal point in the company's growth, following a year marked by a 150 percent revenue increase as demand surges for solutions that combat rising health and welfare costs.

Board members bring deep experience from all sectors of the HR ecosystem: as practitioners, consultants, outsourcing partners and policy-makers. They will help HighRoads through strategic advice regarding new business models, third-party partners, consultants and HR client relationships.

Chien is an executive vice president of Ingenix (a wholly-owned subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group), where he leads the consulting and decision-support strategic business group. Over the course of a 20-year career, he has helped countless organizations with the strategic planning, design, communication and management of comprehensive HR programs, with a focus on employee benefits and healthcare. Earlier in his career, he was global director for the group and healthcare practice at Watson Wyatt Worldwide.

Foulkes is professor and faculty director of the influential Human Resources Policy Institute (HRPI) at Boston University's School of Management, and is widely regarded as one of the most respected thought leaders in the field. Before joining academia, he was a human resources researcher and practitioner. Today, as head of the HRPI, he spearheads executive development and human resources consulting strategies for dozens of large organizations.

Hager is president of Hager Strategic, Inc., a firm specializing in driving efficiencies into key benefits administration, payroll and sourcing practices. For the past 25 years, he has helped change the way large employers implement benefit strategies, manage supplier performance and handle key sourcing practices.

Szostak, president and CEO of Szostak Partners, is a 30-year veteran of the HR industry, with a proven track record in corporate management, human resources and consulting. A former chairman and CEO of Fleet Bank of Maine (1991-1994) and Rhode Island (2001-2003) as well as executive vice president of human resources and diversity of FleetBoston Financial, she played a key role in the financial holding company's repeated recognition as a top-notch employer of choice, achieving high marks for satisfaction and retention rates among more than 50,000 employees. Today, she provides human resources consulting and executive coaching to dozens of CEO's and HR directors.
